Nearly all of RKT’s injection molding machines feature part removal robots, automating over 90% of the injection molding processes. These robots remove the parts from the mold, present them for camera inspection, discard suspect parts, and place good parts into designated containers. They ensure precise consistency throughout processes, managing product sorting during startup, part inspection, cavity segregation for better traceability, and overall enhanced quality control.

Particularly Fast and Flexible

RKT’s linear handling systems remove components from our high-cavity molds at impressively high speeds. Parts with thicker plastic walls and therefore longer cycle times employ fully automated six-axis robots. These robots allow the segregation of parts by cavity which, beneficial for quality control and isolating potentially defective parts. Six-axis robots are highly flexible and are easily adapted to different injection molding tools, producing different new parts. They can be quickly fitted with new grippers and software programs to seamlessly transition to the new part.

In-House Robotics Team for Programming

A dedicated team at RKT manages the integration and programming of part handling robots, ensuring flexibility and real-time adjustments as required. RKT emphasizes early program integration to minimize issues during product launches. Robotic simulations are conducted early in the process, working closely with the tool build and automation teams to optimize product and process launches effectively.
